Cadens LLC has been chosen as one of the winners of the Global Water Center accelerator program. Cadens will receive $50,000, an office suite in the Global Water Center, access to other tenants including faculty and graduate students from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences, the UW-Whitewater Institute for Water Business, and the facility’s labs and other resident water-engineering entrepreneurs.

Gov. Scott Walker honored the outgoing class and introduced the newest “batch” of startup companies accepted into the Global Water Center incubator program known as the BREW Thursday.
The new group of startups, which will be housed in the Global Water Center over the next year, are:
- Cadens LLC – Joseph Millevolte and Randy Mueller – Wisconsin-based company that assists in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of economical small and micro-scale hydropower systems;
- Pellucid Water – Sorin Monolache and Mark Raabe – University of Wisconsin-Madison startup focused on decontamination of water through an application that removes dissolved chemicals from water and other solutions;
- Hydrolight – Eric James and Kashif Hasnie – Patented water sterilization device that uses ultra-violet light to eliminate bacteria, viruses and protozoa from freshwater sources;
- pHinding Solutions – Zach Munns, Brad James and Nick Jones – Biotechnology water company that wirelessly measures and transfers the ionic levels of water, through a patent-pending technology;
- Water Hub – Sunit Mohindroo and Ahmad Badruddin – Toronto data analytics company that serves municipal, industrial and agricultural water sectors;
- Wellntel – Marion Singer and Nick Hayes – Milwaukee-area company that provides real-time understanding of well and surrounding water table dynamics, through constant measuring and reporting of water levels on a private website or app.
Walker showcased the new companies Thursday at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center Hotel, part of the Water Council’s 2014 Water Summit.
