Setting up the test bed system at the Rome Mill is an opportunity for Cadens to demonstrate the adaptability of additive manufacturing for modular small hydropower ducting and mechanical powertrain components. The wall thimble adaptor (shown below) is a great example of AM’s versatility to produce a one-off, site-specific part; easy and low-cost.
The part was made at ORNL MDF through a Collaborative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the DOE Advanced Manufacturing Office. We’re honored to be working with such an amazing team and a big tip of the hat to Brian Post, Alex Roschli, Katherine Gaul, Phillip Chesser and Alex Boulger. Many thanks as well to ORNL Water Power group and Adam Witt, Miles Mobley, Rebecca Brink, and Kevin Stewart. Great job Vito and everyone!
Stay tuned…
